Biodynamics

BIODYNAMIC AGRICULTURE at Elms Farm

Biodynamic farming was the natural choice as our organic standard. It has something extra that brings you close to nature. A biodynamic farm aims to become self-sufficient. All external inputs are kept to a minimum.

The farm is managed around the lunar calendar for planting, cultivating and harvesting with the aim building a diverse ecosystem. Biodynamic food is food produced from healthy soil and contented animals and makes for healthy people.

The flavour is true and because dry matter content is higher it keeps fresher for longer. Nitrate content is low and the food has a greater vitality. Biodynamic methods draw on tradition, learn from the environment and respect nature.

Our biodynamic standards are regulated by the Biodynamic Agricultural Association (BDAA) www.biodynamic.org.uk which exists in order to support, promote and develop the biodynamic approach to farming, gardening and forestry.
